Project Intent

Not everyone in the world has a static sleep pattern, people who has Non-24-hour sleep-wake circadian rhythm disorder have natural internal body cycles with less or more than 24 hours.
This project stems from lived experiences with Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder, a condition that often leads to significant challenges in adaptability and daily life. Due to its relative obscurity, the struggles of individuals with Non-24 remain largely unrecognized, particularly in the context of technological ableism.
The research behind "Rhythms" is informed by personal observations and insights gathered from the Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder Support Facebook Group, which has served as a vital source of information and community support. This project is a tribute to the Non-24 community, shedding light on their experiences and advocating for greater awareness and inclusion.
One form of Non-24, delayed circadian rhythm disorder, causes a progressively later bedtime each day, resistant to external adjustments. Diagnosis and treatment require over three months of sleep tracking. For those seeking medical support, the process presents several challenges.
Homepage: Logs
The input gestures are designed for one-handed ergonomics, optimizing ease of use. Instead of navigating between pages to log sleep times, a simple swipe streamlines the process.

Caffeine and exercise logs require just one tap, reflecting their significant impact on sleep and serving as the system’s default tracking elements. The upper circular buttons are fully customizable, allowing users to tailor their logging experience through the settings page.
